Why I Love Divergent Church Belconnen
Divergent Church Belconnen has become a place I truly appreciate being part of.
In our contemporary culture, declaring "I love my church" tends to sound unusual. People will celebrate their favourite coffee order, show dedication to their gym, and support their footy team (go Raiders!)—but church? That one usually gets the raised eyebrows.
But here I am, saying it loud and clear: I love Divergent Church Belconnen and I don’t feel the need to apologise for it.
I love my Belconnen Church!
Participation goes beyond just showing up to Sunday services or checking off a spiritual requirement. It’s about community, calling, faith, and family. Here are six reasons why I truly feel like Divergent Church Belconnen is family.

1. It Feels Like Family (The Good Kind)
Divergent Church Belconnen provides more than just services—it creates a sense of belonging for its attendees. At Divergent Church Belconnen there is genuine warmth and caring relationships through shared meals and honest conversations. The community is not perfect, but leans on the only one who truly is. Even when there is some creeping doubt in the midst of my worship filled life, the community draws me in to know Jesus is always with me.
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.”— Romans 12:10 (NIV)
2. Our Life Community involves challenging biblically focused Study reading and dynamic Conversations that shape my entire life.
In my life com, Scripture doesn't remain quoted without significance. We wrestle with it. We ask weird questions. We use it to navigate all aspects of life—including work responsibilities, romantic relationships, and learning to forgive housemates over a spilled milk incident.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”— 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
The Word serves as the central theme in Sunday messages, life com discussions, and dinner conversations because it influences our real-world experiences.
3. This Community Allows You to Develop Spiritually Without Pretending
The people at Divergent Belconnen understand that you may not have your spiritual life fully developed when you join. You have permission to attend with your doubts, questions, and even the spiritual baggage you carry. The path to growth at this church is a journey rather than a performance.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”— 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)
You receive genuine support and encouragement to take your next step in faith, regardless of what it looks like.
4. We Serve Together to Fulfil Our Mission
The church exists to serve the world, not to operate for its own sake. Divergent Belconnen functions actively—through its support of community needs and its encouragement for members to live missionally in their daily lives.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”— Matthew 28:19–20 (NIV)
Being part of this group gives us energy because we want to create change beyond the church boundaries.
5. There’s Room for Everyone’s Weird (Even Mine)
Whether you're a Bible nerd or a quiet soul, you will find your place in this community. Divergent Church Belconnen embraces a multitude of unique stories and diverse personalities. It’s kind of like a spiritual potluck.
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”— 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV)
Although our appearances and thoughts differ, we belong to one body—which creates beauty in our diversity.
6. Jesus Remains the Focal Point
The primary purpose of this church extends beyond personal recognition or providing entertainment. The church exists to honour Jesus—through His life, death, resurrection, and His ongoing call to His followers.
“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”— Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)
Jesus is at the centre of it all. That’s what keeps me connected. As we pursue Jesus together, it brings us together even when the journey has challenges.
Final Thought
I understand people find it odd when someone talks about their church with the same enthusiasm they would a favourite café. However, Divergent Church Belconnen exceeds the limitations of Sunday gathering for me. This place is where I have grown so much in Jesus, formed life-long friendships, and discovered my calling.
If you’ve been wondering about church, faith, or community—maybe it’s time to explore. You can plan your visit and find more details at Divergent Church Belconnen.
